  • Megamos Crypto 48 transponder chip: Embedded in the key blade. Used by VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda (all VAG brands). This is the chip the immobilizer reads when you insert the key. The 48-chip uses 128-bit rolling code encryption — one of the most complex transponder chips in civilian vehicles.
  • VW / Audi MQB platform (2014–present Jetta, Tiguan, Atlas): Newer MQB cars use a combined proximity key with MFB design, requiring VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnostic System) or ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) for programming.
