Lincoln SmartKey — Ford PATS Foundation with Luxury Layer

Lincoln uses the Ford PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) as its underlying transponder platform. This means the same core OBD-II programming interface that works on a Ford F-150 also works on a Lincoln Navigator — but Lincoln layers its own SmartKey proximity system on top, adding:

• Passive entry (handles detect approach and unlock automatically on Aviator, Nautilus, and Corsair)
• Push-button start (all current Lincoln models)
• Lincoln-branded key fobs with different part numbers than equivalent Ford fobs
• SecuriCode keypad entry on Navigator and Aviator (5-digit entry code for access without the fob)

Programming a Lincoln key requires both PATS transponder pairing and SmartKey proximity pairing — a two-stage process that our equipment handles in a single on-site visit.

Lincoln Models — Key System by Vehicle

• Navigator (2015–present): Full-size luxury SUV. SecuriCode keypad, passive entry, push-start. Smart key programming from $195. Lincoln's flagship — we carry Navigator-specific blanks and fobs.
• Aviator (2020–present): Mid-size luxury SUV with available plug-in hybrid (Aviator Grand Touring PHEV). Key system identical to standard models — the PHEV designation doesn't affect key programming. Programming from $195.
• Nautilus (2019–present): Replacement for the MKX. Compact luxury SUV with SmartKey push-start. Programming from $185.
• Corsair (2020–present): Entry-level Lincoln SUV, based on Ford Escape platform. SmartKey standard. Programming from $175.
• Continental (2017–2020): The flagship Lincoln sedan, now discontinued. Push-start, passive entry, SecuriCode. We still service Continental keys. Programming from $195.
• MKZ / MKC / MKT / MKX (legacy models): Older Lincoln lineup on Ford PATS. Flip key or smart key depending on year and trim. We cover all legacy models.

SecuriCode Keypad — Your Emergency Backup

Lincoln Navigator, Aviator, and older MKX/MKT models have a numbered keypad on the B-pillar (between front and rear door). This factory-set 5-digit code allows door entry even when the fob battery is completely dead. The default code is printed on a card in the owner's manual and can also be retrieved from the BCM via OBD-II.

If you're locked out with a dead Navigator fob, try the SecuriCode pad first. We can also recover or reset your SecuriCode during a service visit if you've lost the original code.
